Cheese Warehouse Under Construction

October 2011: FDA is building a multimillion dollar cheese warehouse/cooler that will be finished in January of 2012 and is 41,000 square feet along with 6 new loading docks.

FDA – 90 Years of Dairy Excellence

March 2011: On behalf of First District Association, we sincerely thank all FDA members, employees, families, milk haulers and special guests for helping us celebrate FDA’s 90th Anniversary. The mission statement of First District Association is very simple “First District Association is an independent dairy cooperative that maximizes returns for its producers and employees through innovation and by providing superior quality products to a global market.”

FDA has played a prominent role and has a very distinct and proud history in the birth and formation of the modern dairy cooperative within this nation. From the very beginning, the Litchfield Creamery was recognized for high quality dairy products, the efficiency with which it was produced and the excellent service and financial return to its member owners. Ninety years later, FDA continues the proud reputation as a high quality manufacturer of dairy food products with excellent customer and member service.

The success of FDA is attributed to the dedication and commitment of our members, employees, milk haulers and customers. We sincerely thank each FDA Member for your consistent high quality milk delivered to your plant.

FDA was born on March 31, 1921. The cooperative was organized as “Unit #1″ of the newly formed Minnesota Cooperative Creamery Association. Mr. John Brandt was the first President of FDA and remained president until 1953.

First District Association continues to be a very “grass roots” cooperative with strong fundamental operating principles. FDA is a financially strong cooperative that continues to strive for excellence in every way possible. On behalf of your cooperative, we thank each of you for helping us proudly celebrate our “First” Ninety Years.
