Fieldgate Cheese: Store Manager

 

The Fieldgate Cheese Store has an immediate opening for a Store Manager. This position will oversee store operations, profit margins and achieving sales goals and budgets.  There will be a sharp focus on building and growing sales to wholesalers as well as driving sales internally within the store.  A focus on community outreach, service and collaboration will also help drive sales.  The Store Manager will work through the Assistant Store Manager to plan, direct, monitor and adjust store operations as required to meet stated organizational goals. This position requires the ability to make decisions which will ensure organizational objectives are achieved while meeting customer service standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Achieves weekly/monthly store results through management reporting, operations checklists, merchandising and inside store sales and makes appropriate adjustments accordingly.
  • Manages store performance to achieve and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Manages merchandising in the store, sales, discounts, promotions and all Point-of-Sale transactions.
  • Full P&L responsibility for the Fieldgate Cheese Store. The Assistant Store Manager oversees buying and ordering for maximum sales, customer service, inventory control, inventory turns and operational efficiency.
  • Drives promotion of Fieldgate products through various social media, radio and community events.
  • Develop wholesale partnerships to drive sales in a variety of distribution locations within the state or through sales driven events.
  • Work with Assistant Manager to evaluate and adjust store merchandising to stimulate sales and manages gross margins.
  • Oversees all marketing efforts and expenses of the store with a sharp focus on driving foot traffic and sales margins.
  • Participates in goal planning with Director of Milk Marketing and executes those goals.
  • Works with Assistant Manager to monitors and manage store scheduling to continually assess store schedule and adjusts for appropriate customer service and labor levels.
  • Responsible for all store expenses (direct and indirect) and must be proactive in managing those expenses
  • Responsible for providing and maintaining a safe shopping and working environment for customers and associates.
  • Works with Assistant Manager to hire, train and develop associates, providing feedback and coaching for associate development and growth.
  • Provides opportunities for associates to give input/ideas on ways to meet store objectives.
  • Sets an example for personal integrity, appearance and ethical business practices which provides a standard of conduct for all store associates.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Strong sales experience and knowledge in retail and wholesale operations; customer service skills must be exceptional.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to efficiently operate through use of Microsoft products, inventory software management and Point of Sale software.
  • Solid organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with capability to work at a strategic level in addition to being hands-on.
  • Demonstrated skills in planning and business acumen.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds regularly.
