Job Description

First District Association is a dairy cooperative that manufactures wholesome dairy products from high quality milk supplied from our family farms located throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. Our Litchfield manufacturing plant is a state-of-the-art 24/7 facility with new automation and systems, run by a data driven team who maximizes productivity, quality, and performance.

This Software Developer will collaborate with stakeholders, gather requirements, and translate them into actionable software solutions. Responsibilities include building, creating, and modifying front end applications, creating database architecture, testing, debugging, and ensuring connectivity to our 24/7 operating systems. Existing applications exist which require maintenance, enhancement, and further development. This position will teach, encourage, and advise end users on how to utilize software for efficiency, optimization, and answer questions.

The role will be responsible for creating applications, configuring existing systems and providing user support. This role has direct interaction with internal customers, self-directed project management and requires team-oriented problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements, criteria, and interaction with other software in the organization.
• Develop and maintain front-end applications using React and back-end services with Node.js.
• Work with databases, understanding database structure and implementing SQL queries.
• Create well-structured and scalable code that meets organizational needs.
• Report and analyze project progress and outcomes to ensure continuous improvement.
• Ensure software solutions are secure and performant.
• Maintain effective communications with the team and other departments to ensure smooth project execution.
• Initiates conversations with project team to identify challenges, gain consensus on decisions and plan for future applications.
• Maintains application documentation and versioning control.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or any related field along with 5 years of demonstrated experience. We will consider job experience in lieu of education.
• Experience with C# or Python coding languages.
• Demonstrated understanding of database structure and SQL syntax.
• Experience working in Linux environments a plus.
• Understanding of CSS styling for responsive web applications a plus.
• Familiarity with Docker Swarm, CI/CD Platforms or DevSecOps methodologies.
• Prior experience leading projects and teams highly desired.

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift, hybrid (3 days in office)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Litchfield, MN
