To help farmers and dairy cooperative leadership and staff better understand the enrollment options offered by the new Margin Protection Program, we’ll be hosting two webinars to provide a brief overview of the improvements to the program. We’ll cover the key changes made earlier this year by Congress, including more attractive premiums, a shift to monthly payments, and a higher floor for catastrophic coverage – plus a greater opportunity to use the Livestock Gross Margin program. We’ll also answer your questions about the improved program and demonstrate how to utilize USDA’s online decision-making tool to estimate potential payouts, depending on a farm’s production history and interest in purchasing supplemental coverage.

This is a great opportunity to not only hear NMPF’s perspective about these changes, but also ask any questions your staff or members might have about the program and its updates. With just a month and a half before the 2018 sign-up deadline, we encourage your cooperative leadership and staff to join for either of these sessions.
