Leadership for Successful Employee Management
 
Are you looking to improve your Employee Management skills on your farm?  The University of Minnesota Extension is hosting a workshop on how to become a preferred employer by building your leadership skills.
Through hands-on activities and discussions, you will complete the course with materials and ideas that you can immediately implement on your farm.  You will:
- Build leadership skills to effectively manage people
 
- Develop and implement an employee handbook
 
- Identify your communication style and understand how to communicate with different styles
 
- Complete an analysis of human risk on farm and develop policies and procedures to mitigate
 
- Create a recruitment and hiring strategy to increase candidates
 
- Build a farm culture that improves employee retention
 
- Implement on-going employee feedback to provide clarity and empower employees
 
- Understand employee tax law and regulations
 
- Assess your compensation and wage plans to improve market competitiveness
